The Cairo British School
Cairo British School
will open its doors to pupils in September 2005; initially taking
students from the age of 3 to 11, pupils up to the age of 18 will
be admitted in subsequent years. The school will use a child-centered
approach where each one is enabled to fulfill his or her potential.
The National Curriculum of England will be offered, covering English,
mathematics, science, information and communication technology,
geography, history, design technology, art, music, physical education,
modern foreign languages and religious studies. All classrooms are
furnished to a high standard and the school is well resourced where
children are encouraged to experience their learning through physical
activities. Children's achievement will be assessed on a regular
basis to ensure that they are making progress. In years 2, 6, and
9 the school will participate in the Standard Assessment Tasks or
tests as set out by the British Government. CBS will also carry
out the National Curriculum optional tests as the children progress
through the school. As the school expands to take older children,
it will also offer a variety of two-year GCSE and IGCSE courses.
Success in the end of course examinations will give the students
qualifications which are internationally recognized and accepted.
CBS is founded and managed by the Thebes Educational Group, a long
established educational organization in Egypt.
