Hong Kong Schools
International Schools |
International Schools in Hong Kong.Hong Kong has been a business magnet of Eastern Asia. For a hundred years it was under the patronage of the British Commonwealth, but returned to being part of China in 1997. However it has remained as a business centre, operating a free market economy which has continued to attract investors and businesses alike. For that reason there is a choice of international schools in Hong Kong. The climate in Hong Kong is subtropical with cool and mild winters and hot and humid summers. Although predominantly Chinese, Hong Kong also is home to many Americans, Europeans, Australians and a multitude of other nationalities. The international schools in Hong Kong cater for the children of business men from the west, as well as diplomatic staff and people from the local commnity. Curricula Many International Schools in Hong Kong offer an American, Australian or British education. The International Baccalaureate is taught in some schools. There is no formal recognition of the IB as a university entrance qualification in China. However, some IB diploma students have successfully been admitted on an individually negotiated basis, and this remains the best approach. The IB Regional Representative office for China may be able to offer some assistance. Address: Mme Wang Hong IBAP Regional Representative for China International
