Introduction
The Anglo Moroccan School project, started in 2005 with substantial assistance from the Moroccan authorities, received its first students in 2008. The aim was to create a modern international style school that would meet the needs of modern Tangier by providing education for the growing number of children of foreign nationals and Moroccan expatriates living there. The school, located on a large 1.5 hectare site in the city suburb of Ziaten, offers primary and secondary British international education to children aged 4 to 18. We currently have students from over 16 different countries. The School is licensed by the University of Cambridge as an International Examinations Centre and is also a registered Cambridge International Primary Programme school (MA008).
In addition to the international aspect of the school, there is the opportunity to experience Morocco and Moroccan culture. The teachings of Arabic and French languages are also offered as part of the programme.
Academic Programme:
The language of instruction is English. The students are prepared for internationally recognised examinations that are accepted worldwide: the Cambridge Primary Achievement Award, Cambridge Checkpoint, IGCSE, A Level and the CIE English Language qualifications such YLEs, KET, PET and FCE.
Well-qualified and experienced international teachers, working with small groups in colourful and attractive classrooms, are able to place emphasis working for the individual development of each student.
The school’s academic year starts in September and ends in June with customary breaks for holidays in each semester. The daily timetable starts at 08:25 and ends at 15:00
Activities and Sport
In addition to demanding high academic standards and good discipline, the school offers a varied and comprehensive range of sport, creative and cultural activities that will compliment and enrich the overall educational programme. We also operate many after-school clubs.
School Philosophy
From its conception, this project was developed on the principle of modern education and how to deliver it at its best. We aspire to give a challenging, meaningful and enjoyable education to our young people. In pursuit of this objective, we have a strong team of dedicated and competent staff, onsite modern facilities and up to date equipment and resources. The school is administered by a qualified and experienced international management team who are committed to giving a professional and affordable service.
All this is in a friendly, tolerant and international environment, where every student can feel welcome and make new friends wherever they come from!
