The Cedar School serves students from pre-kindergarten through
grade 12. The school is directed by a Board of Trustees, comprised
of a maximum of 15 community members who meet regularly to set policy
and develop guidelines within which the entire school operates.
The Head of School is the chief administrator of the school, serves
as an ex-officio member of the Board of Trustees, and is responsible
for the day-to-day operations of the school. The Head of School
is responsible for all staff and student functions.
The school has been fully accredited in grades Kindergarten through
grade 12 by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools,
and is an associated member of the Caribbean Association of Independent
Schools.
The school has a single campus on two hectares of land. There is
one main building consisting of sixteen classrooms, one staffroom,
six administrative offices, one computer laboratory with 25 computers,
one fully equipped science laboratory, one library with 5,500 volumes
and Internet access, an auditorium and an infirmary. Recreation
facilities include a large sanded kindergarten play area, a sanded
junior school play area, a soccer field, a basketball court, a sand
volleyball court, a PE equipment shed and three shaded dining/recreation
areas. There is a separate annex for music, art and design technology.
All classrooms are air conditioned and use ceiling fans. Each classroom
has a computer with Internet access.
