he British International School, Kyiv (part of the Nord Anglia Education Group plc) was founded in 1997. The school's mission is to provide a high quality educational programme for its students which leads to university entrance qualifications which are recognized worldwide.

The student body at British International School, Kyiv is drawn from the international diplomatic and business communities as well as Ukrainian government and business circles.

The school is housed in two recently renovated buildings. The Primary School (ages 3 to 10 years) has good facilities including large, bright classrooms, a computer suite, art room, physical education halls and large playing fields.

The Middle and Secondary schools (ages 10 to 18) has ample classrooms as well as specialist facilities, such as a science laboratory, and two PC computer suites. Middle and Secondary students are taken by bus to a local sports centre for physical education lessons.

The curriculum at British International School, Kyiv is divided into three parts: the core, the Ukrainian programme and the international programme. Every pupil experiences the core programme which is the teaching of English language and literature, mathematics, science, computer studies and German. Pupils then participate in either the Ukrainian or the International programme. Those in the international programme are taught in English further subjects such as art, history, geography, and Russian.

Pupils are prepared for British and Ukrainian examinations including the Cambridge University examinations at GCSE and A/S level and 'A' level.

The academic teaching staff at British International School, Kyiv are highly qualified, native English speakers with experience of the National Curriculum of England and Wales. Academic classes do not exceed 20 pupils. Teaching staff and children are aided by a full complement of support staff.

The British International School, Kyiv school day is from 08:50 to 15:35 Monday to Friday. The day is divided into eight forty-minute lessons. There is a short break in the morning and afternoon and a cooked lunch is provided around mid-day. The school year begins the first of September and ends in the last week of June. There are holidays in late December/January and at Easter.
