The Tashkent Ulugbek International School was opened in September 1995 in co-operation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and the SILM corporation. The school is co-educational, non-racial, non-profit school, providing a diploma approved by the Ministry of Public Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At the Ulugbek International School, all lessons are delivered in English. Course books and resource materials are imported mainly from the UK.

The The Tashkent Ulugbek International School is located in a modern refurbished building with well-appointed classrooms, gymnasium, laboratories, computer lab, dining room, garden and outdoor facilities. It offers primary and secondary school education to children from the international community as well as to children from the local Uzbek community. The student body represents 20 nationalities.

A one-year preparatory class is also available to children with no, or insufficient, knowledge of English. The curriculum has been adapted from the English National Curriculum.
