Rock Creek International School provides a bilingual education
for boys and girls in Pre-kindergarten through grade 8. The schools
dual-language curriculum develops fluency in English and French,
Spanish or Arabic. The mission of Rock Creek International School
is to educate students to achieve high academic levels of performance,
proficiency in two languages, in-depth knowledge and appreciation
of diverse peoples and cultures, responsible participation in local,
national and global communities, and a pursuit of life-long commitment
to personal development and service to others.
The Rock Creek International School is implementing the International
Baccalaureate Organisation's Primary Years Programme, featuring
inquiry-based learning, trans-disciplinary projects and internationalism.
Small classes, active participation in learning, and discovery beyond
the classroom in Washingtons rich environment foster further
enjoyment in learning. Other languages and enrichment classes are
taught after school. The school is situated on four-and-half acres
of park and playground areas in Washington's Georgetown area. A
summer language immersion program is also offered at Rock Creek
International School. A middle school opened in September 2003.
Rock Creek International School,RCIS is accredited by the Middle
States Association of Schools and Colleges.
