Founded in 1912, Seoul Foreign School aims to educate the whole
child in a challenging academic atmosphere and within a broad, interdenominational
Christian climate.
A strong college-preparatory programme is enhanced by IB courses
and a high ratio of computers per student. A British curriculum
division is available to children through age 12.
The majority of teachers at Seoul Foreign School are American and
British, and are well trained, experienced professionals across
the age spectrum. The average stay is four years.
Students at Seoul Foreign School are predominantly American (59%)
but some 51 other nations are also represented. The average stay
is about three years. Graduates usually enter US colleges or universities,
with small numbers going to Europe.
Seoul Foreign School runs from late August to mid June with 180
student days scheduled yearly. The school day runs from 08:30-15:00
with sports, drama, and other activities following.
The campus of some 24 acres has six classroom buildings, Performing
Arts Center, auditorium, gymnasiums, indoor swimming pool, cafeteria,
faculty housing and maintenance facilities. There are four science
labs, four computer labs, drama and photo facilities, art and language
rooms. Four tennis courts and a large field supplement the gym.
Applicants to Seoul Foreign School are tested for English and academic
competence. Limited financial aid is available.
