Acorns British Style Nursery

The Acorns British Style Nursery opened in September 2004 and is based upon a joint Romanian/British partnership. The nursery provides high quality full time or part time child care for children between the ages of 18 months and 6 years old. All nationalities are welcomed into the nursery. We aim to provide a range of stimulating and exiting learning activities, preparing children for their first years of formal schooling. Acorns helps children develop confidence in their own abilities, an enquiring mind, respect for both themselves and others, to learn to share and to communicate effectively. Our curriculum is based upon the British Foundation Stage and children learn through a variety of structured play based activities. Our staff are fluent in English and provide a combination of experience in early years education with teaching qualifications.
Acorns is open throughout the year, closing for 2 weeks at Christmas, 1 week at Easter and for the month of August.

Acorns British Style Nursery is managed and run by both experienced mothers and qualified childcare professionals.

We believe that children can only develop to their full potential when they feel at ease in their surroundings. To this end we aim to provide a safe, stimulating and happy learning environment.

We base our child care provision and teaching on the British model which focuses on developing the whole child and base our learning programmes on what each individual child is able to do.

We acknowledge that each child brings with them their own experiences, knowledge of home language and culture. We value these and we actively promote an understanding of each other's backgrounds within the nursery so that our children develop an open mind, preparing them for life as international citizens in an ever-changing world.

We believe that young children are like sponges: soaking up knowledge at every opportunity. English is therefore spoken all day, allowing the children to become fully immersed in the language.
