We are a small school offering high quality English courses for adults
(minimum age 18) in a friendly, relaxed environment. Our small group courses
have a maximum of 10 students. Small, personal classes ensure that:
you have plenty of opportunity to speak
you get individual attention from the teacher
your progress is faster and you develop your confidence more quickly.
We accept a maximum of 50 students. It is an important part of our policy
that everyone should know everyone else at Polyglot so that a personalised
atmosphere is maintained at all times and we can look after the welfare
of every student.
We are Accredited by The British Council and are members of ARELS (the
Association of Recognised English Language Services); this is your guarantee
of quality.
You take an initial placement test before or on arrival to establish
your existing level. Your progress is continuously monitored to allow
you to move to a higher level when appropriate. You will receive a Polyglot
Certificate at the end of your course stating the level of English you
have achieved.
LEVELS: Elementary, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate, Upper Intermediate
and Advanced.
GENERAL ENGLISH COURSES
Our General English Courses start every two weeks with a maximum of 10
students. The minimum enrolment is 2 weeks and you can enrol for any number
of weeks above 2 (2,3,4,5,6,7 etc.).
You can choose between:
25 lessons per week (every morning & afternoon)
21 lessons per week (every morning and Monday, Wednesday & Friday
afternoons).
15 lessons per week (every morning)
Each lesson is 50 minutes. Students who need a student visa must take
at least 21 lessons per week.
CAMBRIDGE EXAMINATION COURSE
We offer 14 or 15 week courses to prepare for the Cambridge First Certificate
(FCE) and Advanced Certificate (CAE). Our overall past rate to date averages
well over 80%. Students must pass a test before being accepted on these
courses. Exam fees and books are not included in the course fees.
IELTS COURSE
We can prepare you for The International English Language Testing System
(University of Cambridge/The British Council), which is widely recognised
as a language requirement for further and higher education. Courses are
25 lessons per week, 15 lessons of General English in the mornings and
10 lessons of exam preparation in the afternoons, for 4, 6 or 8 weeks.
You must be strong Intermediate level or above for this course.

ENGLISH FOR BUSINESS COURSE:
Ideal for those who would like to develop their language skills for business
and professional purposes and want to use English in the world of work,
either now or in the future. Areas covered include: Meetings, Negotiations,
Presentations, Telephoning, Describing your job, Describing a company,
Describing processes, Discussing sales/budget figures, Explaining figures
& graphs, Socialising with clients.
25 lessons per week (every morning and afternoon) Morning lessons are
General/Social English and afternoon lessons are Business English. You
can enrol for between 2 and 8 weeks. For this course you must be of a
good Intermediate level or above according to the Polyglot Placement Test.
INDIVIDUAL INTENSIVE COURSE - ENGLISH FOR SPECIFIC PURPOSES
For those who wish to make very fast progress in a short time:
30 lessons per week 9.00 - 15.50 or
25 lessons per week 9.00 - 14.50
Each lesson is 50 minutes. You may start on any Monday for any number
of weeks. The content of the course will be designed to provide you with
the language skills that you need for your particular job.
COMBINATION COURSE
15 Group morning lessons per week combined with either 15 or 10 Individual
lessons per week (3 or 2 Individual Lessons every afternoon).
