Established in 1995, the ABC International School is an international,
non-denominational day school for both expatriate and Vietnamese
students. The school follows the UK National Curriculum and has
QCA status, is currently involved in the
process of OFSTED accreditation and plan to seek full membership
of E/CIS in the current academic year.
The ABC International School is presently situated in two locations:
The Early Years/KS1 campus in the city centre (District 3), and
KS2/3 campus in South Saigon (District 7). Facilities include specialist
areas for science, art/DT, music, ICT, library and PE.
The ABC International School comprises students and staff of 26
nationalities. The highly experienced, fully qualified staff (with
an average of 10 years experience) are from the UK, Ireland, Australia,
New Zealand, the Philippines, Vietnam, China and the USA.
Providing education for 2-14 year olds, the school offers curriculum
instruction in the following subjects: English language and literature,
numeracy, science, computer studies, geography, history, modern
foreign languages (French & Chinese), art and design technology,
PE, and swimming. The school follows the UK National Curriculum
Guidelines for most subject areas, including the National Literacy
and Numeracy Strategies. SEN provision for children with minor learning
or behavioural difficulties came into effect from August 2004.
The ABC International School’s extensive EAL programme is
offered from Year 1 through to Year 9. Specialist EAL support exists
to facilitate swift progress in English and allow EAL students to
access all subjects within the curriculum. Every child is expected
to pursue personal high standards.
All textbooks are supplied and the school is fully resourced from
the UK annually. All classrooms are air-conditioned, bright and
spacious and there are facilities for outdoor play. An extensive
extra-curricular programme exists throughout the school comprising
a wide range of sports and after school clubs.
Field trips take place regularly for all year groups, including
week-long excursions to a variety of destinations throughout Vietnam
for KS2/3 students. The school year runs from late August to Early
July, split into 3 terms. Daily hours are 08:30-15:30.
Entry to the ABC International School is organised via a detailed
interview between Key Stage Co-ordinators and prospective students
at all Key Stages. Application forms and further information is
