Saigon South International School, (SSIS) is the only international,
not for profit school in HCMC. Students come from 27 countries and
5 continents. Saigon South International School, (SSIS) admit students
of all nationalities including a limited number of non-native English
speakers. Saigon South International School, (SSIS) offers a natural
airy environment in a safe, master planned community that is easy
to reach via the new highway and bridges. The school is located
in the new city center, Saigon South, better known as Nam Saigon,
which is the greenest and newest part of the city and yet is only
15 minutes away from the current city center.
CURRICULUM: Saigon South International School, (SSIS) offers the
only American curriculum in HCMC for students in grades pre-school
through the high school level. At the high school level Saigon South
International School, (SSIS) offers AP classes in several disciplines.
STAFF: Our quality teaching staff includes certified native English
speaking teachers, mostly from North America.
FACILITIES: Large open air campus with all new state of the art
buildings including technologically equipped classrooms, double
size gymnasium, dance studio, weight room, indoor swimming pool,
art rooms, media center, computer labs, cafeteria, music center
and a library. Classrooms are large and classes are kept to the
small size of 20 students per class. Outside there are grassy areas
including covered areas of play as well as sports fields.
SCHOOL YEAR AND SCHOOL DAY: Mid-August to Mid-June, with school
breaks in October, December, February, June and July. The school
day is from 8:00 to 3:00 at all age and grade levels.
EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY: Child Centered Education that focuses on
Academic Excellence, Sense of Self, Dedicated Service, Balance in
Life and Respect for All. The school is committed to maintaining
a low student teacher ratio at all levels including a ratio of 10:1
at the elementary and pre-school levels. At Saigon South International
School, (SSIS) we believe that smaller classes contribute to more
individual attention, differentiated instruction and flexibility,
allowing students to reach their full potential and to strive for
excellence in all aspects of their lives.
