Non-Governmental School 'Bacalavre'
The Non-Governmental School Bacalavre was founded in September
1996 and meets all requirements of the Moscow Education Programme
i.e. the curriculum recommended for Moscow schools.
Children from 7-17 are taught at Bacalavre. There are
primary and secondary departments in the structure of the Educational
Center. The staff consists of experienced teachers with degrees
including specialists for pupils with special education needs such
as writing and speech difficulties. The adoption of the International
Baccalaureate is being investigated.
The concept of the Non-Governmental School 'Bacalavre" was
developed by Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Education,
Vasily Davydov. The school curriculum includes English language
(from 1st form), German (from 3rd form) and French as an option.
Several disciplines such as English history and literature, economics,
etc. are given to school children according to an international
curriculum.
A distinctive feature of Bacalavre is a desire to develop
a humanities programme focusing on arts, Russian and international
cultural heritage. Schoolchildren regularly attend theaters, museums,
concerts and art galleries. Under the guidance of professional actors
and theater directors they stage their favourite plays by Russian
and foreign authors.
Physical training is an important part of the school life. Children
learn to play basketball, tennis, swimming and skiing. Martial arts
and dance classes are also available.
The Non-Governmental School 'Bacalavre' graduates are students
of the leading universities in Russia. 'Bacalavre' has established
a contract with the 'IBS Moscow' - a leading business school in
the Russian Federation preparing students to receive MBA degree.
Being school graduates, pupils are studying at the faculty of the
Business Administration simultaneously. Afterwards they are given
opportunities to continue their study in the Netherlands ac-cording
to agreement of the Universities.
Applicants for admission to Non-Governmental School 'Bacalavre'
must take an entrance test indicating the level of the childs
knowledge of subjects of school curriculum and physiological condition.
The school year runs from September to June, it is divided into
three trimesters. Classes are held five days a week. Children stay
at school from 09:00 till 19:00. Full board and transport are provided.
