Slavic Anglo-American School 'Marina' was founded in 1992. It is a
state controlled school and has a measure of independence which enables
it to improve its facilities and amenities. In 1994 the school was
awarded state accreditation.
The school's curriculum is based on the national curriculum adopted
throughout the country and the curriculum of the school system of
North Carolina (USA). All students entering the school follow a
largely common curriculum including mathematics, Russian, English,
modern languages, the sciences (including laboratory study), the
social sciences (history, geography, etc.), the arts, physical education,
health, citizenship, community service and environmental awareness,
computer technology and a wide range of extra-curricular activities.
The Slavic Anglo-American School 'Marina' seeks to provide a good
all-round education for children of all abilities, counting each
child of equal value and trying to help each child develop his or
her individual abilities to the full.
The Slavic Anglo-American School 'Marina' medical services carry
out routine inspections from time to time and a Nurse is available
for emergencies which arise during the day. There is a medical room
in the primary school.
Lunch is served in the dining room during lunch breaks.
Due to the fact that pupils live in different parts of the city
their parents take the responsibility of transporting them to and
from school, but transport is provided for Slavic Anglo-American
School 'Marina' excursions.
