Yintab Group of Schools
Yintab Nursery and Primary school in Owutu, Ikorodu is situated on 8483.47
square meters piece of land. This was allocated to the school by Lagos
state government through the Lagos State Development and Property Corporation
(LSDPC) in 1996. The State decided not to provide a Nursery and Primary
school for a lower middle-income estate that it constructed and provided
the land for a private initiative to meet the needs of a social good.
The construction of the school buildings started in July 1997. Our classrooms
are clean, well ventilated and attractive with charts art objects. The
out door environment is large with a playing field, playground with swings
and climbing equipment. Extra-curricular activities include: a range of
non-sporting activities such as chess club, scouts club, Taekwando, literary
and debating club, Maths club, Agric.Science club, Music and cultural
clubs. Pupils are encouraged to give full commitment to extra-curricular
activities when required to do soby the school. The day care department
takes care of children from 6 weeks old to 2 years. This is to lift up
the burden of working mothers from entrusting their children in the hands
of unprofessional nannies.
The nursery department caters for age 2 and 5 years old. We have a variety
of equipment which is suitable for large muscle coordination. There are
toys and games which are good learning experiences for the children as
they discover things for themselves. The classes are managed by qualified
teachers for the kindergarten and nursery I and II. Each class has a maximum
of twenty children. During the time the children are with us, they are
given a good foundation for effective learning. They are brought up in
spiritual ways through Bible stories are read and important morals such
as kindness, respect, and concern for people and things around them, including
the environment. This department educates children so that they are fit
for admission into the primary department of the school or of any other
primary school.
