The British School - Muscat, formerly known as The Muscat English
Speaking School, is an independent, co-educational, multi-national
day school. It was founded in 1971 to meet the needs of the English
speaking community living in Muscat, and granted a Royal Charter by
His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said in May 1973.
The British School - Muscat provides the English National Curriculum
to children of the international community (52 nationalities are
currently represented) between the ages of 3 and 18, who are entered
for End of Key Stage, GCSE, A/S and 'A' Level examinations. The
British School - Muscat has approximately 700 students, with a maximum
of 22 in each class. It is extremely well-resourced with an impressive
range of buildings on a large purpose-built site, and has a friendly,
caring atmosphere. Students receive a high standard of education,
which is reflected in excellent results throughout the school.
Prospective parents and pupils are welcome to arrange to visit
the British School - Muscat.
