Fawzia Sultan International School
The Fawzia Sultan International School is a non-profit, multi-service organization, established to serve as a model and demonstration center for effective practices in instructional support services. While a history of academic difficulty is common, the Fawzia Sultan International School will consider all students who may benefit from its small classes and individualized instruction. The school provides a variety of special education services, organized into the following three separate programs: 1) The Fawzia Sultan International School serves children of average to superior intelligence, from ages four to 16, who are experiencing specific learning disabilities in one or more of the major areas affecting academic success. Learning disabilities may occur in any of the academic areas, in language development, social skills, behavioral adjustment, cognitive processes, or psycho-motor skills. The school operates as an American curriculum international school offering the full range of subjects and activities of a regular full-day school program. In addition, it integrates into its instructional programs the most advanced educational computer technology and software. 2) The Learning Support Program is a separate section, designed to intervene in the pre-school and elementary school years to identify and treat learning disabilities and prevent the development of more serious problems. This program combines special education with speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, and computer assisted instruction. 3) The Clinical Services Department provides comprehensive psycho-educational evaluations, speech and language therapy, physical therapy, professional staff development programs, community education and parent education programs. All services are fully approved by the US Government for funding for US embassy and Department of Defense dependants, and for the payment of fees by the Kuwait Government.
