Ideal Education School, Kuwait
The Ideal Education School was founded in 1996 and it is a non-profit educational academy established to meet the needs of developmentally challenged students. Designed to provide specialized education for students suffering from expressive & receptive language disorders, cognitive delay, autism, Downs Syndrome and cerebral palsy, the Ideal Education School also offers support services to students, families and the community. The Ideal Education School offers a dual approach using well-qualified educators and Individualized Education Programs (IEP). IEPs are designed to target specific difficulties which a student may encounter and provide a detailed, step-by-step educational strategy to assist in overcoming those challenges. Students at the Ideal Education School are given the opportunity to achieve their maximum potential, while learning to enjoy the independence and responsibility afforded by being a productive member of the community. While integrating these students into mainstream education programs is the basic goal, the school concentrates on supplying the emotional, physical and intellectual life experiences and confidence necessary for each student to lead a fuller life. Physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy are also provided. The Ideal Education School year is divided into three terms: early September to mid-December, January to mid-March and the end of March to early June. The school week is Saturday to Wednesday, 08:00 -13:30 for the older students and 8:00 to 12:00 for the younger students. The Ideal Education School has received the approval of the Ministry of Education in Kuwait to teach regular classes in grades K and 1-4, Canadian curriculum - for the academic year 2004 - 2005.
