Dulwich College Beijing (DCB) was founded in August 2004 when it merged with the pre-existing International Montessori School of Beijing. DCB is co-educational, non-denominational and committed to the highest standards of 21st century education. Set in a combination of pre-exiting and brand new facilities, it provides the Montessori Programme in the Early Years classes and then adheres to the English National Curriculum from Year 2 leading to IGCSE in Years 10 and 11 and the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma programme in Years 12 and 13. DCB's campuses (Beijing Riviera, River Garden and Sanlitun) are situated in the Chaoyang District of Beijing, China. The curriculum is based on the best practices of UK and international systems providing a broad and balanced education with the required specialization in later years. The language of instruction throughout the school is English and the school's policy is to recruit fully qualified, native English-speaking teachers, with experience of the Montessori Programme for the Early Years programme and the British National Curriculum and other international systems for Years 2 and above. Mandarin language tuition is an integral part of the DCB curriculum, with timetabled lessons for each class daily. Under the auspices and guidance of the renowned Dulwich College, London the curriculum development of DCB has been professionally monitored and assessed according to demanding criteria. Dulwich College Beijing (DCB) will assess students prior to entry beginning in Year 3. The exams will assess levels in both English and Mathematics. If a student speaks English as a second language, DCB will also provide an assessment test to determine the level of English proficiency. Dulwich College Beijing (DCB) will limit the number of students in need of English language support to 20% or less in each class.

Dulwich College Beijing (DCB) aims to provide the best possible environment for students to achieve success in all their educational pursuits, including: an appropriate and balanced academic challenge, which enables each student to realize his or her potential; a wide range of sporting, musical and dramatic opportunities and co-curricular activities, through which students can develop a breadth of interests and learn to work cooperatively. A caring, supportive community, which encourages personal and social development among students from a variety of cultural backgrounds. The calendar runs from August to June and the school closes for major vacations and Chinese National Holidays. At Dulwich College Beijing (DCB) the school day is from 08:45 until 15:30.
