The Tarsus American School begins its second century of providing
Turkish youth with a dynamic education designed to foster caring,
understanding, and concerned citizens who will continue to lead and
serve their country as do the hundreds of TAS graduates. Following
the combined Turkish and American curriculum with a particular stress
on the daily use of English, Tarsus American School students develop
skills which will help them to analyze and generate ideas and concepts
which will improve the world for future generations to come.
The Tarsus American School aims to provide the best teachers for
its students, and to give students the most productive academic
setting and social environment in order for them to attain a high
level of academic skills. Tarsus American School aims to teach English
to the students with an emphasis on learning from native speakers
who are credentialed from the best overseas universities. It also
aims to teach the students the social skills necessary to live and
work in an ever-changing global economy; and finally teach them
to think independently, individually and critically.
Economic Magazine (1994) noted that Tarsus American School is in
the top ten schools in Turkey, due mainly to the success of its
graduates.
