Aonang Montessori Nursery is a small, bilingual, community school offering a child-centered education.
Our school aims to make learning an active process building on children's innate desire to learn through exploration.
A skilled and formally trained native English speaking teacher works closely with a highly experienced Thai teacher and competent learning support assistant to deliver a curriculum which embraces both British and Thai Education standards.
Teachers aim to help children achieve their individual potential, to think for themselves and for the good of others and lay down the broad foundations of experience and knowledge required for later life in an environment where they are respected and nurtured.
Situated in the beautiful environment of Krabi province, Ao Nang Montessori is an ideal location for youngsters to thrive and grow. The school building is set well back from the road and is safely located within an elegant fence. The large garden is a natural setting which the children are encouraged to tend and care for. There are plants, flowers and shady trees intertwined with playground equipment such as swings, a sandpit, climbing frame and sand pit.
The school building comprises of an open plan, spacious classroom which is always fresh and breezy.
Specially designed shelving, furniture and equipment are child sized making resources easily accessible, aiding in indepedance , order and self discipline for the children, who select their own work and tidy it away afterwards.
The classroom is divided into six work areas reflecting the six areas of learning in the curriculum. The book corner and language area provide reading and writing materials in both Thai and English. Teachers secure the environment is always rich in variety allowing the children to develop and refine their minds, bodies and senses.
The school follows the western academic calendar. Beginning in September and ending in June.
