In a quiet, pollution-free environment,
off of Soi 78 Pattanakarn Road, you will find the striking new campus
of St Georges International School. This school is purpose-built
and is the brain-child of Bob Kennett who has been involved in British
International education for the past 17 years. St Georges
follows the National Curriculum of England and Wales but adds to
this many aspects of Thai culture and traditions. The teaching methodology
is child-centered and the school is proud of its homely and
caring atmosphere. St Georges International School follows
the English National Curriculum, adapted to meet the needs of all
students within an Early Years and Primary School programme that
combines the best of British education with Thai traditions. A clear
emphasis is placed on the core subjects of English, mathematics
and science, whilst other subjects taught include music, history,
geography, art and physical education. Technology, incorporating
information technology and design technology, plays an important
role in the school. All students also enjoy weekly Thai Culture
lessons, designed to give them an insight into the language, geography,
traditions and cultures of Thailand. Each term a range of extra-curricular
activities are offered to help children develop wide interests and
a healthy zest for life. Students at St Georges benefit from
large classrooms that are equipped with the latest materials and
resources, together with additional facilities that include an IT
suite, library, outdoor playground area, sports field and a swimming
pool. All the teaching staff have British qualifications and bring
a wealth of experience from the U.K. and other British international
schools. The school also employs a number of Thai Teaching Assistants
who help to support teachers and students in the classroom. The
school day operates between 08.30 and 14.40. Transport is provided
for students that require it and the school also offers a wide range
of lunch options each week. The academic year follows the British
pattern and is divided into three terms running from September through
to July.
