St Andrew's International School Rayong opened in 1996 and is situated
in in the Green Valley Golf Course on the eastern seaboard of Thailand
about 150 km from Bangkok. The school, one of a group of four schools
in Thailand, is a co-educational day and boarding school for students
from 2-14 years. The school is a member of ISAT, FOBISSEA and is an
Associate Member of ECIS.
The St Andrews International School Rayong follows the English
National Curriculum. The student body is divided into the relevant
Key Stages and students sit the QCA standardised assessment tests
at the end of each key stage. Other curricular features include
links with host country communities and school wide environmental
projects and initiatives. As part of the school's all-round educational
policy, extensive after-school activities such as golf, horse-riding,
mountain biking, tennis, baseball, ballet, art club, football and
touch-rugby are offered. In addition, there is an equestrian centre,
tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer pitch, swimming pool and
specialised facilities for subjects such as computers, music, languages
and science.
The boarding ethos is that of a comfortable, family environment
and is situated in a brand-new facility. The weekly boarders enjoy
an extensive extra-curricular activities programme.
All teaching staff at St Andrews International School Rayong have
recognized teaching qualifications and most have overseas experience.
The student body represents 20 different nationalities, many of
whom are long-term residents in the area, with 40% from Asia.
Admission depends on tests and previous school records. There is
an EAL programme running to support the children who experience
difficulties with English.
The St Andrews International School Rayong year runs from early
September to early July. Daily hours are 08:30 to 14:30.
