            Al-Worood is in its twenty-third year of serving the local and international 
            communities in Abu Dhabi. It is an English medium, co-educational, 
            private day school with 2,092 pupils, offering education from nursery 
            to Grade 12. The school is licensed and inspected by the UAE Ministry 
            of Education and is a fully accredited K-12 member of the Middle States 
            Association of Colleges and Schools and CITA. It is also a member 
            of the College Board and NESA. The school is a centre for Edexcel 
            (London Examinations) GCE AS and A level examinations 
            and UCLES IGCSE. Students also sit TOEFL, SAT and PSAT.
             In Grades 1 to 6 at Al-Worood School the curriculum includes art, 
              music, PE and computer. At the end of Grade 10 students take examinations 
              in seven or eight IGCSE subjects: mathematics, English, biology, 
              chemistry, physics, Arabic or French, plus one or two subjects chosen 
              from computer studies, accounting and business studies. At the end 
              of Grade 12 students at Al-Worood school normally sit GCE A 
              level examinations in three subjects: mathematics, chemistry, and 
              either biology or physics. Successful Grade 12 students are also 
              awarded a High School Diploma. There are High School sections in 
              Grades 9 to 12 for those students who do not wish to sit the British 
              examinations. Graduates have been admitted to degree courses at 
              universities worldwide. These universities include Dundee (Medicine), 
              LSE, Kings College London, UMIST, Oxford-Brookes (Architecture), 
              University College London, Johns Hopkins, Virginia, Vanderbilt, 
              MIT, McGill, Toronto, TCD, RCSI and Western Australia. A number 
              have been awarded scholarships and sophomore standing. The Al-Worood school offers a programme of educational and cultural 
              visits, and numerous school events. Sports include soccer, basketball,
