School Summary
:
National, UK, curricula.
733 students, 3-17 yrs.

The School of Research Science first opened in 1998 and has now grown to two sites, a Primary site for KG1-Y6 pupils, and a Secondary site for pupils from Y7 to A/AS level. Its aim is to provide a Western-style skills-based education with an Islamic framework. The school caters for Emirati and international students. Staff at the School of Research Science are drawn from Western countries and Islamic countries in the region; they are highly qualified and well-trained.

Pupils follow an adapted English National Curriculum and the UAE Ministry Arabic curriculum. Both School of Research Science premises are modern, purpose-built, light and attractive.

Facilities in the Primary school include two swimming pools, a large gymnasium, networked computers in every class and two computer rooms with 25 computers used by all classes. There is a science laboratory, library and grassed and hard court sports facilities.

The Secondary school has similar facilities and in addition six well-equipped science laboratories. The School of Research Science follows 'best practice' in education and has a family atmosphere supported by a strong pastoral system.

Classes at the School of Research Science are small and teaching materials are carefully planned. The school has been following the UK initiatives of Literacy and Numeracy Hours and more recently the KS3 initiatives in Literacy, Numeracy and Science.

Special Educational Needs are supported by two special needs teachers and there are programmes for E2L and A2L throughout the school.
